Our strong development was to be accompanied by the construction of a completely dedicated production premises site, but also by the specific development of our industrial tool. Production lines were therefore designed and created to cover our present and future needs. All the assets are thus present to reach our goal: doubling our production capacity

What is the mission of DIAGAST on the topic of industrialization?

At DIAGAST, industrialization includes both the transfer of new products from R&D to production, but also the design and certification of new machines.

Industrializing new products means finding a way to create a process which enables “small capacity” projects to be reproduced on a large scale. To do this, we manufacture “pilot” batches, which reproduce the performance of the product developed by R&D in order to assess the possibility of scaling it up. To achieve this, either we use existing means of production or we design new equipment that meets the challenges of the market.

How is DIAGAST structured to meet the challenges of Industrialization?

Two departments carry out this industrialization mission and are deeply involved in our development and growth challenges:

The Automated Systems Department

This service contributes to implementing new production tools, which meet the expectations linked to the industrialization of the product, in terms of production rates and volumes.

We also provide:

The Process Development Department

This service contributes to the provision of pilot batches which will be evaluated based on R&D information.

  • The documentation related to the production itself (formulation, filling and packaging),
  • The technical data of the product (recipe, production timeline and standard cost),
  • and the packaging information (primary and secondary).

These two services work in close coordination, allowing DIAGAST to offer a varied range of industrial machines, thereby meeting our development and growth challenges. We come into action at every stage: from the drafting of the machine specifications, to the release of the new line with qualification batches. And each department brings its expertise regarding the tools or biological aspects.

Our teams come from different backgrounds, offering varied and complementary skills. We have:

  • General engineers,
  • Engineers in biology,
  • Former production technicians who have knowledge of the product lines,
  • Process specialists.

Does the DIAGAST industrial tool meet the challenges of tomorrow?

In 2018, we designed and built a new 6000 square meters building, entirely dedicated to industrialisation, now housing both already-existing and brand new production equipment.

Our new generation of machines, coupled with existing machines, are the perfect answer to  DIAGAST’s ambition in terms of development : more flexibility, improved rates, and increased in-process controls.

For example, we have 2 automated bottle lines, which allow distributions from 2ml to 1L and 1 microplate distribution line.

The implementation of a new bottling line makes it possible to increase our batch sizes over the same production time. We can increase safety of the final product,  AND strengthen the “in process” controls of the tower line. This means MORE  flexibility in the volume of distribution, allowing us to increase our sales volumes without saturating our industrial tool.
