Self sufficiency and security will be the watchwords of this congress. In fact, transfusion requirements increase and the availability of products is difficult to follow. This difficulty is recognized in France as well as in Europe. However, blood safety really means product quality and self-sufficiency capacity, to cover all needs, and in real time.

On the other hand, the study of the difference between supply and needs, namely the improvement of requirements, development of new biotechnologies, particularly those based on cell therapy is essential. All these ways of development, research and reference should lead to increase the safety of transfused blood products.Autosuffisance et sécurité seront les maîtres mots de ce congrès.
